HALAL MENU ITEMS & CERTIFICATIONS

Savory Crust offers select empanadas prepared with Zabiha Halal proteins. All Zabiha Halal meats are sourced through Fatima Foods (Addison, Illinois), a trusted Halal meat distributor.

Zabiha Halal Empanada Flavors: The following empanadas are made using Zabiha Halal meat:

• Chicken Pot Pie

• Argentinian Chicken

• Butter Chicken

• Picadillo

• Bacon, Egg & Cheese (Halal beef bacon)

• Philly Cheesesteak

While Savory Crust is not currently a fully Halal-certified kitchen, we are transparent about our practices and do not claim Halal certification from any certifying organization at this time.

Our decision to transition certain proteins to Zabiha Halal was driven by quality, taste, ethical sourcing, and animal welfare standards. Over time, we have been honored to serve a growing community of guests who choose Halal for religious, ethical, or personal reasons, and we take that responsibility seriously.

Many restaurants that serve Halal proteins operate similarly—offering Halal menu items without full facility certification. This is comparable to restaurants that offer Kosher items without being a Kosher-certified kitchen. We believe in being clear, honest, and respectful so that each guest can make an informed decision based on their own comfort level and dietary needs.

Our Commitment Moving Forward

Savory Crust is actively working toward Halal certification. Once we open our next facility, we intend to formally apply and move forward with becoming a Halal-certified kitchen, in shā’ Allāh. Our long-term goal is to align our operations fully with Halal certification standards while continuing to serve a diverse and inclusive customer base.
